Deontay Wilder, 33, boasts an impressive 40-fight unbeaten record that includes 39 knockouts going into his fight with Tyson Fury.

The showdown will be staged at the Staples Center in Los Angeles with millions of fans around the world set to tune in in the hopes of seeing another heavyweight classic.

Wilder said: “This fight means everything to the heavyweight division.

“This division was once in a dark place [but] we’ve brought the sport back to life.

“When we’re put in a room together you can feel the energy, to the point where you need security. People feel the intensity – it’s a huge fight.

Wilder and Fury’s weights will be confirmed at Friday’s weigh-in, which will be live on BT Sport 2 from 8.30pm GMT.

The American weighed in under 215lb for his previous fight against Luis Ortiz, his lightest since 2009.
