Sair Khan I’m A Celeb: How Corrie star got in shape before entering jungle

Sair Khan, 30, is just one of the I’m A Celebrity 2018 hopefuls, taking on the challenges alongside the likes of Nick Knowles, Emily Atack, Fleur East and Harry Redknapp.

The I’m A Celeb jungle is notoriously difficult both mentally and physically, so no doubt the contestants made sure to prepare for a tough three weeks.

While they can’t really practice the eating challenges at home, they can get into shape for the physical tasks.

And Sair Khan did just that, using a diet and training routine from Ultimate Performance Fitness.

While her workouts consists of weighted exercises, her diet was rich in protein.

Before having breakfast Sair would have one pint of water infused with fresh lemon and cinnamon – a combination full of nutrients which is also said to be beneficial to heart health.

A typical breakfast for the actress would be one portion of a fatty protein source, for example eggs, with one tablespoon of nut butter.

She would later have a morning snack consisting of chicken, seasonal vegetables and one teaspoon of coconut oil.

Lunch would be white fish alongside seasonal vegetables and half an avocado.

Dinner would consist of a turkey breast again with vegetables and, on her training days, a portion of sweet potato.

Sair’s workouts each week would involve one group workout and one high intensity interval training session.

She would also carry out two low-intensity sustained state sessions (LISS), with each session lasting 20 to 30 minutes.

LISS are workouts performed at a low intensity for a prolonged period of time.

Her typical high intensity workouts would be a circuit of six different exercises, 45 seconds on and 15 seconds off.

The circuit would involve leg extensions, lat pull downs, reverse lunges with dumbbells, dumbbell shoulder press, lying leg curl and seated cable row

Sair would then repeat this circuit three to four times.

And after each gruelling workout, Sair would have a protein shake and a banana.

The Coronation Street actress recent stripped down to her bikini on I’m A Celeb, to wash in the camp’s bath.

And she soon had viewers complimenting her fabulous figure, with one person tweeting: “Sair Khan is very fit I must say”

“Said Khan is glowing even in the jungle,” praised another person.

Before entering the jungle Sair said she would find it strange to be herself, having played Corrie’s Alya Nazir for nearly five years.
