Meghan Markle vs Princess Diana style: How did the royals’ engagement pictures differ?

Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan Markle, 37, delighted fans last year by posing for a series of stunning snaps on the day they announced their plans to wed.

The couple were pictured looking overjoyed as they stood outdoors at The Sunken Gardens, Kensington Palace.

Years earlier, Prince Harry’s parents – Prince Charles, now 70, and Princess Diana, who was Lady Diana Spencer at the time, were also pictured in some al fresco images, but in the grounds of Buckingham Palace.

Aside from having their own very different styles, there were many years between the two photoshoots taking place – so it’s unsurprising that there are a number of differences in the shots.

So, just how do the royals’ wardrobe choices differ?
