NBA news: Steph Curry car crash update given by Warriors coach Steve Kerr

Curry was dealing with a groin strain injury, and has not been involved in action on-court since November 9.

He has still been ever-present on the sidelines, and watched on as the Warriors beat the Portland Trail Blazers

The star would have had good reason to stay home, however, as he was involved in a car crash just hours earlier.

Curry had been driving his Porsche along a California highway on Friday morning when his car was hit by a Lexus.

After the star pulled over to the side of the road, he was rear-ended by a Sedan.

He later tweeted to confirm he was okay.

“Don’t need any reminders but All the Time God is Great and God is Great all the time! Appreciate all the texts.” he wrote.

Kerr, who is currently sweating on Curry’s recovery from the groin injury, reassured fans that the star was not hurt in the crash.

“He is fine,” Kerr told reporters before the Trail Blazers win.

“He was a little shaken up, like anybody would be getting into a car accident, but thankfully nobody was hurt and Steph’s doing fine.

“He probably has another car that he can drive.” He joked.

Curry participated in practice after the incident.

Curry’s team-mate DeMarcus Cousins is also still out of action.

But Kerr insisted that he will be back in the team before too long.

“I don’t have any update in terms of when he might play,” he said.

“We have so many games bunched up right now that we haven’t had a chance to really get DeMarcus into a scrimmage situation.

“So that will be coming and we’ll have an update for you probably next week.”
