Aldi’s Kevin The Carrot: Parents queuing for HOURS to get hold of Aldi toy – but why?

Kevin the Carrot has proven to be extremely popular among Britons. Kevin was first introduced on British TV-screen in 2016, and fans are now trying to to get a hold of the orange vegetable toy.

Aldi released Kevin the Carrot toys in the online store on November 22.

And ever since the popular character was launched people have been queuing for hours to get a hold of it.

Other members of the Carrot family, such as Katie the Carrot, are also being sold.

Last year Kevin and Katie resold for more than £1,000 on eBay and parents are now doing everything they can to get a hold of the toy for a lower price.

But the influx of people trying get their hands on the plush toys has led to a glitch on Aldi’s website this morning.

However, the website should be up and running again.

Aldi wrote: “The buzz around our Kevin the Carrot soft toys range has been extremely high and briefly impacted the performance of our website.

“The website is now fully operational again.”

The plush toys are being offered in different sizes this year.

The small Kevin the Carrot cost £3,99 but has already sold out online.

A large version was also made available for £19,99.

In addition “Carrot kids” are being sold for £2,99, Katie the Carrot for £3,99 and Pascal the Parsnip for £3,99

All the products are unfortunately currently sold out.

Kevin and Katie soft toys are part of Aldi’s Specialbuys range.

This means there is no guarantee that they will be restocked.

The Kevin the Carrot toy range is being sold in support of the supermarket’s charity partner Teenage Cancer Trust.
