Galaxy S10 could be surpassed by an even more exciting Samsung flagship

Galaxy S10 is expected to be announced by Samsung at the start of next year and it has been rumoured to boast a number of substantial upgrades from the S9 both internally and aesthetically.

The hardware has been predicted to come in three versions, a move that would represent a huge divergence from Samsung’s tradition with its S-line products in recent years.

In addition to debuting in standard and Plus models, the Galaxy S10 has been rumoured arrive in a budget variant.

Such a claim was echoed by a recent Bloomberg report that stated the more affordable device will forgo a curved display in order to reduce its price tag.

The outlet also declared the “Standard” Galaxy S10’s display will be “about the same size” as the current 5.8-inch panel present on the S9.

Moreover, it added the S10 will come with a triple camera system.

Notable tipster Evan Blass recently insisted the S10 will come with a standard, wide and telephoto lens that would represent a similar setup to that offered on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

It is presumed the Galaxy S10 will be unveiled by Samsung at Mobile World Congress (MWC), an annual technology event in Barcelona, in February.

However, it appears Samsung also has another device in the works that could surpass the S10.

The Wall Street Journal recently declared Samsung has a “top-secret” smartphone in development that has “six cameras” and is capable of delivering 5G network speeds.

Citing people familiar with the matter, the publication added the device will come with a whopping 6.7-inch display.

Such a size could eclipse that of the Galaxy S10 that is presumed to come with a similar size display to that of the Galaxy S9+.

Moreover, it was detailed the new device will feature four cameras on its rear and two on the front.

If true, the design decision would represent the greatest amount of cameras ever placed on a Samsung smartphone.

The mid-tier Galaxy A9 captured headlines back in October for its rear panel that featured four cameras.

Galaxy A9 comes with a 24-megapixel main, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 10-megapixel telephoto and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.

In addition to boasting a camera cavalcade, the Wall Street Journal also emphasised Samsung has “saved” functions exclusively for the 6.7-inch Galaxy S phone.

The outlet’s report also stated the Galaxy S10 will come with reverse wireless charging functionality that will allow other smartphones to charge when placed on its rear panel.

Such a tool was introduced on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro that debuted last month.

Although the Wall Street Journal’s report detailed a number of features about a “top-secret” Galaxy device, nothing has been officially confirmed by the South Korean tech giant.
