Cowboys news: Dak Prescott makes admission ahead of Redskins Thanksgiving NFL clash

The Cowboys have won their last two matches, beating Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons.

They now face an NFC East match-up with Washington Redskins on Thanksgiving Thursday.

A win will see them join the Redskins at the top of the division as Dallas currently sit on 5-5 for the NFL season.

But star quarterback Prescott has admitted that the Cowboys can’t afford to lose another game if they want to make a push for the playoffs this year.

“We said it a couple of weeks ago, we knew the division was in front of us,” Prescott said.

“Our backs are still against the wall though.

“We know how important this game is but it’s another must-win for us.

“We are playing with a lot of confidence and you can do that when you’re getting wins and playing well together.

“This is a confident group and it’s good to be on the winning side.”

Cowboys’ running back Ezekiel Elliott has excelled in the past two matches, rushing for over 100 yards in each game.

He had 201 total yards and a touchdown during the 22-19 win over the Falcons in Week 11.

And Elliott has echoed Prescott’s thoughts.

“We got a must-win for the rest of the season,” the 23-year-old said.

“We’ve definitely made a lot of stride in our running game.

“We are being better on first down, not getting behind early in game and it’s helping.

“We’ve done a great job as a team overall, everyone doing their job.”
