Transfer news LIVE: Chelsea open shock Man Utd talks, Liverpool deal backed, Arsenal

Man Utd open Kante talks

Chelsea have been rocked by Man Utd opening transfer talks with N’Golo Kante’s entourage, it’s claimed.

The Blues are eager to tie Kante down to a new contract, with the midfielder’s current deal expiring in 2021.

Yet Caught Offside have sensationally claimed Manchester United have sounded out the player’s entourage for talks about a potential transfer.

Caught Offside reckon United have opened talks with the player and are hopeful of signing him.

Liverpool transfer backed

Liverpool would be the perfect destination for Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic, ESPN FC pundit Paul Mariner claims.

“Let’s look at [Xherdan] Shaqiri,” Mariner said of the Reds and Chelsea target. Shaqiri was a bit of an eyebrow raiser – ‘why has he signed Shaqiri?’.

“Shaqiri can be a little bit in and out, he’s not the most consistent of footballers. He’s obviously sat him down and said ‘listen mate, if you want to play in this team, you’ve got to do A, B, C, D, E, F and so on and so forth’.

“And he is, everybody’s saying now maybe Shaqiri should be coming into the line up.

“If Pulisic was to go to Liverpool, the nurturing and the way that Klopp puts his arm around players, I think it would be a fabulous move for him.”

Chelsea to spend big

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is planning to spend more than £200million in January now that the Blues have got the threat of a two-year transfer ban hanging over them.

FIFA have recommended the Blues receive a four-window transfer ban following an investigation into them signing under-age foreign players.

Chelsea are ready to go head-to-head with both Manchester United and City to sign £50m-rated Brazilian wing-back Alex Sandro, 27, from Juventus.

And they are on the verge of winning the £70m-race to land winger Christian Pulisic, 20, from Borussia Dortmund.

Sarri may also return to his former club Napoli and pay £50m for right-back Elseid Hysaj, 24.

They are also looking to invoke a £40m buy-back clause in the deal that took central defender Nathan Ake to Bournemouth.
