Patrick Mahomes and Jared Goff claim made about Tom Brady… Could this really be true?

Mahomes, of the Kansas City Chiefs, and Goff, of the Los Angeles Rams, are both making waves in the NFL this season.

And some have even gone so far as to say that these two are most likely to pick up the mantle from Tom Brady, once the legendary New England Patriots quarterback retires.

Mahomes, 23, is setting the league ablaze in his first full season as a starter, and has 31 touchdowns from ten games.

Goff, 24, is in his third season at the Rams, and has 22 touchdowns from 10 games started.

Pundits have likened Brady’s start in his career to the start Mahomes has made, as both sat their rookie seasons on the bench watching a veteran starter.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid admitted that the two could well be promising players going forward, but stated it is too early to call the game a rivalry.

“Listen, I’m terrible at predicting the future, but it would look that way, right?” he said.

“For the NFL, I just think those are not only two good players, but good guys.

“They’re good for their teams, they’re good for the league, they’re good for kids that watch them, all those things that are important about our game.

“I think both of them have a real chance to leave a mark on it.”

Goff refused to get drawn into the speculation and claims he could follow in Brady’s footsteps, but had only good things to say regarding Mahomes.

“Who knows?” he said.

“You hope you keep having success, but who knows?

“He’s [Mahomes] a great player and I have a lot of respect for him.

“Very happy for all of his success this year and everything he’s done.

“Hopefully, we both keep having success.”
