Fallout 76 SERVER STATUS: When will downtime end? Is there an update? What’s in the patch?

Fallout 76 fans are currently unable to play the game online.

Bethesda has taken Fallout 76 offline for much-needed server maintenance, following a troubled launch.

Bethesda confirmed the news on Twitter, telling fans to stay tuned for fresh updates.

“We’ve brought #Fallout76 offline for scheduled maintenance,” reads a Bethesda tweet. “During this time you will be unable to log into or play Fallout 76. Please stay tuned for updates!”

There’s no word on how long server maintenance will last, but even when the game does return, most fans will be unable to play.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

That’s because the Fallout 76 update weighs in at a staggering 47GB on PS4.

Bethesda did warn fans about the size of the patch, confirming that it would be abnormally large compared to future updates.

“This update will be large compared to what we expect for patches going forward,” Bethesda explains.

“Regular updates will always vary in size, but future updates should be much smaller in comparison.”

According to early patch notes, Bethesda will prioritise stability and performance on all platforms, before moving on to content updates.

“The next update will focus primarily on game performance and stability on all platforms but will also come with a list of fixes to quests, UI, C.A.M.P.s, and more.”

Unfortunately, today’s update won’t increase the Stash Limit. This feature will be added in the coming weeks.

“The current limit is there for technical reasons, to cap the number of items the game is tracking in the world, including every container and stash,” Bethesda explains.

“We believe we have some ideas in both the short and long-term that will address the size without risking stability, but this is one we need to take our time on to make sure it is done right.”

PC users can also expect a number of big changes in the coming weeks, as Bethesda adds Push to Talk, ultra-wide support and an FOV Slider.
