Strictly Come Dancing 2018: Claudia Winkleman displays ‘hidden nerves’, expert says – why?

Claudia Winkleman was all smiles as she made her way into view for tonight’s episode of Strictly Come Dancing at Blackpool Tower Ballroom this evening.

After years in the job, the presenter on the BBC ballroom competition, fans could assume she’s at ease on the small screen as viewers from across the nation watch her.

However, a body language expert has insisted that she may have spied the 46-year-old displaying some “hidden nerves”.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Judi James said: “Claudia looked almost as excited as the celebs to be in Blackpool, dancing and jigging her way on the floor and looking as though she’d happily have stepped into one of the routines herself too.”

However, Judi identified another aspect of her appearance which could have suggested she was more nervous than she was letting on.

The body language professional divulged: “Her ring fiddling and nail-picking suggested a very tiny amount of hidden nerves.”

She added: “But her profile seems to be rising to the point where they even have her telling the corny jokes in the style of the veteran TV icon she replaced, Bruce Forsyth.”

Claudia has become a huge name in the world of television in the UK, after shooting to fame in the 1990s.

She first began regularly appearing on TV in 1992, in the BBC travel review series Holiday – which aired between 1969 and 2007.

The mother-of-three went on to report for a number of different TV shows, and landed a role hosting Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two in 2004.

The TV star became a presenter of the results show of the ballroom dance competition in 2010, and four years later, began co-hosting the live Saturday night shows alongside Tess Daly, 49.

With her career on the small screen spanning almost 30 years, she’s no doubt changed somewhat through the ages.

And, in some recently unearthed throwback snaps, her hair looked very different to the iconic fringe she’s sported for some years now.

In one photo, taken in 2001, a younger Claudia is pictured with her tresses cascading around her shoulders from a centre parting.

Just three years later, the star is seen sporting darker brunette locks – as well as her famous full fringe.

What’s more, her outfit was very of the noughties era – with the star sporting a vibrant pink halterneck top and floaty white skirt.

Making a statement, she had slung a large woven belt around her waist.
