Avengers Infinity War: Captain Marvel end credits scene was nearly different – here’s how

The post-credits moment saw Samuel L Jackson’s Nick Fury meeting the same ashy demise that was hitting half the universe; but not before he used a pager to send a distress signal. Captain Marvel’s recognisable symbol then showed up on the screen, indicating that she would be en route to help save the day in Avengers 4.

Concept artist Fausto De Martini has revealed that the Marvel film could have ended with Fury using something else to send his signal.

On Instagram he showed off some of the designs for other objects – including a throwback to the iconic 1990s Palm Pilot.

He captioned his work: “Captain Marvel Pager design I did for Avengers, Infinity War!

“The final design was based on a previous version done by another artist.

“Russel Bobbit (Prop Master) had the fun idea to pitch a palm pilot as well, hence the versions of the design you see here.”

Now, the wait continues to see what happens next in Avengers 4.

The film still does not have a title, and it’s not clear when exactly fans will be getting a trailer.

The first promo for Avengers: Infinity War was released in late November last year, but mystery remains over whether Avengers 4 will follow the same schedule.

Indeed, over the weekend co-director Joe Russo was seen in an Instagram Q&A hinting that it could actually land in early 2019; but online rumours suggest we’re just two weeks away.

He also said that, as things stand, the running time is a monster three hours.

The movie will be preceded by Captain Marvel’s solo movie, which is set in the 1990s – hence the pager – and due for release in March.

Avengers 4 is out on April 26, 2019 in the UK and May 3 in the US.
