Galaxy Note 9 is set for its biggest upgrade yet that Samsung fans are going to love

Galaxy Note 9 debuted at Samsung’s Unpacked event in New York City on August 9 and offers a deluge of flagship features and specifications.

The Note 9 comes with a colossal 6.4-inch AMOLED display that boasts vibrant colours and incredible viewing angles.

Moreover, the Note 9’s signature S Pen has been improved, meaning users can control music playback and other functions just by using the accessory.

Galaxy Note 9 is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 9810 chipset in the UK, but in other markets such as the US a Snapdragon 845 is present under the hood.

Samsung’s top-tier device launched with Android 8.1 Oreo and has not yet received an upgrade to Android 9 Pie.

Google’s newest operating system was shown off back in August and brings a wealth of new and useful tools to the table.

Although the software originally only arrived on Pixel devices and the Essential Phone, it has since come to a host of other hardware from the likes of OnePlus, Sony, Huawei and more.

However, at its recent developer conference in San Francisco, Samsung was keen to show off its next generation of software called One UI that is set to launch on the Galaxy Note 9 next year.

Essentially, One UI will be Samsung’s newest Android skin and will run over 9 Pie.

This means fans of the South Korean tech giant have all the benefits of the new Google interface to look forward to.

However, One UI also represents a huge change for Samsung; the software boasts a cleaner and more contemporary look than anything Samsung has put together before.

During its developer conference keynote, the South Korean firm was eager to explain how the interface has been put together to make navigating large devices, such as the Note 9, easier with one hand.

Explaining its new skin, Samsung said: “One UI helps you focus on what really matters to you.

“With hardware and software working together in harmony, see only what you need, using and viewing your phone with an experience that feels second nature. Because it’s the small details that make a big difference.

“Find and focus on the content you want easily. The decluttered screen shows relevant information with each tap, so you only get the essentials, one at a time.

“Reach what you want. Content and features at your fingertips, so you can get to them faster. Interacting with your phone just feels natural.”

One UI will arrive for the Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus in January.

However, Samsung fans that want to take advantage of the new skin, and Android 9 Pie, early can sign up for the One UI beta programme.

Downloading the Samsung Members app will present users with a “One UI beta programme registration” option.

This will allow users to download the new aesthetic and features when the beta starts later this month.

It is worth noting entering the beta comes at the risk of using software with more prominent bugs.
