Spice Girls tour 2019: Fears over tickets CHAOS as fans prepare for HUGE demand

Geri Horner, Melanie C, Mel B and Geri Horner will tour at least six stadiums next summer; their first concert dates in a decade. With no fan presale and 20 years’ worth of fan nostalgia to capitalise on, it is expected that the demand for tickets will be enormous. All six shows hit the market at 10:30am today (Saturday) and sites such as TicketMaster, Gigs And Tours and SeeTickets will likely see huge surges in traffic. See some of the funniest tweets below.

“Up and prepped to buy spice girls tickets as soon as they go on sale. This is my Glastonbury,” tweeted one fan.

Someone else joked: “If you think I’m going to spend a Saturday morning at my laptop trying to spend £80+ on Spice Girls reunion tickets when Victoria Beckham isn’t even coming back you’d be absolutely correct.”

“Getting pre @spicegirls ticket buying anxiety sweats,” quipped a third.

Another superfan posted: “If I don’t get Spice Girls tickets you should probably unfollow me because my feed will be unbearable. If I do get Spice Girls tickets you should probably unfollow me because my feed will be unbearable.”

““Hold onto your knickers girls!” It’s time! #SpiceGirls SO NERVOUS!” posted one fan, referencing Victoria Beckham’s line in the Spice World movie.

And another person tweeted: “Been up since yesterday & I’m ready.”

The tour will call at Ethiad Stadium, Manchester (June 1); Ricoh Stadium, Coventry (June 3); Stadium of Light, Sunderland (June 6); BT Murrayfield, Edinburgh (June 8; Ashton Gate, Bristol (June 10) and Wembley Stadium, London (June 15).

The gaps between shows has led to speculation that more dates will be added.

Indeed, Chris Evans joked repeatedly during their BBC Radio 2 interview this morning that “more stadiums are on hold”.

But the women kept coy on whether or not that is in fact true, with Geri saying: “I’m going to see how Mel B behaves [before we announce more].

“We’ll do six, and if she behaves…!”

Evans also tried to catch out support act Jess Glynne when she phoned-in to the interview, though Glynne stayed on-message and said she has been booked for six dates.

The presenter quipped at the end of the interview: “Good luck for the extra shows.”
