Man Utd news: Alexis Sanchez wants to quit Old Trafford for THREE reasons

Sanchez has struggled to perform in Manchester since his move from Arsenal in January.

And the Times claim Sanchez is disillusioned with life for three main reasons.

It is claimed Sanchez has been badly affected by the break up of his relationship with long term partner Mayte Rodriguez, that he doesn’t get on with his team-mates and that he doesn’t like Jose Mourinho’s management style.

The Chile ace, 29, has struggled to adapt at Manchester United and he has only managed one goal all season – in the dramatic comeback against Newcastle.

He has been in and out of the side in recent weeks and was even left out of the match squad for the defeat to West Ham.

Sanchez has started the last two games – wins against Bournemouth and Juventus – but has been replaced before United completed late wins.

He was believed to be a doubt for the Manchester derby this week after clutching his thigh as he went off against Juve.

But Mourinho said he had no new injury worries this weekend and that Romelu Lukaku was back available after training today.

“No new injures,” Mourinho told MUTV.

“So from Juventus we don’t bring important injuries.

“We have touches but I don’t think any player that was available for Juventus will be out.

“We have a chance – It is Friday morning now – that Lukaku could be back.”

But the latest revelations will add to the doubts around his future after it emerged last month that he had asked his agent to try and find him a new club.

Sanchez, however, is paid around £500,000 a week, so would find it difficult to find another club who would pay those figures.

Sanchez joined United in a deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan go the other way when he was expected to join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

At the time it was seen as a huge coup for United to get one over their rivals, but things haven’t worked out as planned.

A parting of the way in the summer seems inevitable if United can find someone to take him.

PSG are the most likely but they would need to sell one of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe to finance it.

Real Madrid also require more firepower in attack and if Gareth Bale moves on, following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, a move could be plausible.

But they are the only two realistic options unless Sanchez was to move to China or take a huge drop in wages.

Sanchez’s former boss Arsene Wenger, who despite indulging the forward managed to get the best out of him at Arsenal, had his say on his current predicament.

“I believe he has lost confidence,” Wenger told beIN Sports.

“The strength of Alexis Sanchez is to take initiative to dribble and to take people on.

“Those are the players who are most vulnerable when they lose confidence their game is based on that and having that feeling to take initiative, he has lost that slowly.

“Since the start of the season he had a high level of physical energy but he has lost that as well. Certainly he is refreshed now because Mourinho left him out for a while.”
