Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 were Samsung’s top-tier devices last year.
Both severely reduced bezels from their predecessors, offering a more futuristic-looking device.
Galaxy S8 arrived with a 5.8-inch AMOLED display while the Galaxy Note 8 came with a gargantuan 6.3-inch AMOLED panel.
And the flagship duo were powered by either Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 chipset or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 depending on the region its was sold.
UK customers received the Exynos hardware while other markets such as the US received the Snapdragon 845.

However, it appears the duo are set to miss out on Samsung’s recently revealed One UI interface.
Samsung has traditionally put its own skin over Android and One UI represents the next generation of such software.
The new interface places a heavy emphasis on being able to navigate on large devices with one hand.
In the messages application for instance Samsung noted One UI will present more content towards the bottom and centre of the display.
This means owners of larger hardware from the South Korean tech giant, such as the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, will not have to stretch to reach certain actions.
Samsung’s new interface also takes on a brand-new aesthetic thanks to rounded corners and more colourful themes.
And the software is based on Android 9 Pie, the latest version of Google’s operating system that debuted back in August.
This means the new interface will surely harness headline features such as Adaptive Battery that takes advantage of machine learning to direct power away from applications that are not used in favour of ones that are.
Such a feature should improve battery life on user devices overall.
However, owners of the Galaxy S8, S8 Plus and Galaxy Note 8 will not receive Samsung’s new One UI interface, according to Tom’s Guide.
The publication insisted Samsung “confirmed” its previous flagships are set to miss out on the huge upgrade.
