Midterm elections results: Brothel owner Dennis Hof wins Nevada despite DYING last month

The Republican candidate received over 60% of the votes and was running for the state legislature in Nevada but died unexpectedly on October 16.

Despite polling sites plastered with signs declaring him dead, results showed that Mr Hof had 68.3 percent of the vote versus Ms Romanov’s 31.7 percent.

During his campaign, Dennis nicknamed himself the “Trump from Pahrump,” in reference to the town where he lived in Nevada.

Chuck Muth, Hof’s campaign manager, said Election Day is “bittersweet.”

He added: “It’s kind of like Moses.

“He’s not going to make it to the promised land with us… but we hope he’s watching from the great beyond.”

He said Mr Hof had apparently ‘died quietly in his sleep’ at Love Ranch, one of his legal brothels in Crystal, Nevada.

The pimp had celebrated his birthday the day before with a political rally at the Pahrump Nugget – a nearby Casino.

Among those to attend the bash was porn star Ron Jeremy and American musician Flavor Flav.

The next morning Mr Jeremy went to the Republican candidates suite and found him dead.

He said: ““Right now, as we speak, you’ve got Flavor Flav crying his eyes out.”

These extraordinary circumstances mean the assembly seat will be declared vacant, since the winner is dead, and the County Commissioner will begin a process to fill the seat.

So far the Midterm elections have seen US President Donald Trump lose the House of Representatives to the Democrats but is projected to expanded their majority in the Senate.

With some races still undecided, Democrats appear on course to gain of more than 30 seats, well beyond the 23 they needed to claim their first majority in the 435-member House in eight years.

Their win over the House in the midterm elections will create a clear hurdle for Republicans to easily pass legislation through both chambers of Congress.
