It has now been confirmed by Microsoft that gamers trying to play Fortnite, Black Ops 4 or Destiny 2 tonight, will run into issues.
This is down to a problem with digital content and may not affect all players who own disc versions of these games.
This will be the reason why problems on each games platform have not been flagged by their development teams yet.
The current Xbox One server status from Microsoft reads:
“We are aware that some members may be having problems finding previously-purchased content or purchasing new content.

Current issues affecting Xbox One servers include downloading items that you have already purchased, as well as using certain content you have bought and paid for.
This problem is currently affecting both the Xbox One and Xbox 360, with more updates expected within the hour.
Fortnite, Black Ops 4 and Destiny will be affected by tonight’s issues as they are all online experiences that have sold well on digital platforms.
“Sorry, it looks like our service isn’t working right,” is one of a number of error message console owners are seeing tonight.
“Apps work fine. The game finally installs and I can’t even play,” one affected user confirms.
“I can’t seem to redeem the Xbox gift card that I just bought for my daughter on my Xbox One or over the internet via the Microsoft Store,” another user writes.
