Midterm elections: Trump HUMILIATED AGAIN as Pentagon REFUSES detention centre increase

According to an unnamed source, tensions are continuing to rise between Trump and US Army commanders after his request to have migrant detention centres built was denied.

Since the start of his candidacy and throughout his presidency, Trump has repeatedly stated he will to strengthen the US’ security on their southern border.

Trump had said that he was going to send 5,000-15,000 US troops to the US-Mexico border to intercept the caravan after it arrived.

The President has repeatedly demonised the caravan since it started its journey and has used it as a key campaigning point ahead of the midterm elections.

At one rally he told his supporters to “look what is marching up – that’s an invasion”.

According to Mexico’s interior ministry, there are around 5,000 people from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala travelling either in the caravan or in smaller groups.

It is believed they will reach the US border sometime in December.

Just days earlier, Trump’s request for soldiers with live-fire weapons to be sent to the border was denied by the Pentagon.

They said the situation should be handled by local and state authorities.

However, the Pentagon did say that they will provide troops for medical support and for engineering as well as aerial surveillance and intelligence.

These troops are being deployed in a mission called Operation Faithful Patriot and they are told to “harden” the border and support border control and the 2,000 national guardsmen who are already there.

Last week, Trump received criticism for saying that the troops should treat any rocks that are throw by migrants as a firearm.

He said: “Consider it a rifle.

“When they throw rocks like they did at the Mexico military police, consider it a rifle.”

The next day he had to backtrack and told reporters that if any troops “are going to be hit in the face with rocks, we’re going to arrest those people.

“That doesn’t mean shoot them.”
