Pokemon Go news: Adventure Sync not working issues and rewards, new shiny event

The new Adventure Sync feature is being rolled out to Pokemon Go Trainers this week.

The new option allows players to track more data from their game, while also earning new rewards.

But some players who have access to Adventure Sync have seen some teething problems.

Issues with Sync not working have been affecting a range of Trainers, with Niantic sharing a long post on the current issues affecting it.

Adventure Sync is currently being advertised for players who are level 30 and up and is expected to carry on rolling out over the coming days.

It will eventually be available to Trainers level 5 and up, although, there is a chance that these glitch reports could slowdown the release.

For those that don’t know, Adventure Sync is an optional mode that will allow Trainers to record their kilometres travelled even when the Pokémon Go app isn’t open.

This will mean earning Buddy Candy and hatching Eggs without significantly impacting your device’s battery life.

When your Buddy Pokémon has found Candy or when an Egg is about to hatch, you can enable to receive a push notification.

This will also come with weekly fitness reports to track progress as well as earn rewards for reaching weekly milestones.

Weekly rewards come in three different bundles, which is based on the distance you have travelled in that time.

The best rewards are unlocked if you cover 50KM, with the following available to those who reach that milestone: 20 Poke Ball, 10 Great Ball, 5 Ultra Ball.

Additional rewards can include 15000 Stardust paired with a 10 KM egg or a Rare Candy.

  • 25 km rewards: 20 Poke Ball, 25 km rewards, 20 Poke Ball, 10 Great Ball – 5000 Stardust.
  • 5 km rewards include 20 Poke Ball.

Trainers who want to use Adventure Sync must enable location permissions and connect to either Apple Health or Google Fit.

To activate it, Tap the Main Menu button, Tap the Settings button and then Tap on Adventure Sync.

You will be asked to grant permissions for Pokémon Go to access your Apple Health or Google Fit data.

There is also a whole list of issues currently connected to Pokemon Go Adventure Sync not working, which can be found at the bottom of this article.

Fans have also had a chance at catching Shiny Pinsirs this weekend, which started popping up on Saturday.

Odds for catching one are said to be high and also fell in line with another event offering up a shiny to catch.

For three hours, Gengar was available in Raid Battles, with fans reporting encountering shiny variants.

The shiny Pinsirs, meanwhile, were part of an ongoing Safari Zone event in Taiwan, details of which can be found below:

“A Pokémon GO Safari Zone event in Tainan, Taiwan, is taking place from Thursday, November 1, to Monday, November 5, at the Tainan Metropolitan Park and the Chimei Museum!

“Dubbed Taiwan’s oldest city, Tainan is famous for its long history and rich culture. The city boasts many historic buildings, heritage sites, and temples, as well as an abundance of local festivals, culinary delicacies, and gourmet snacks.

“Plus, throughout the city of Tainan, Trainers will be able to find Pokémon not normally seen in Taiwan, such as the Water- and Rock-type Pokémon Relicanth, the Psychic-type Pokémon Unown, and more! And if you’re lucky, you might even encounter a Shiny Pinsir.”

ADVENTURE SYNC NOT WORKING ISSUES

Data is out-of-date or incomplete

  • There may be a delay of up to several hours to sync your steps, so you may not always see the most up to date data.
  • Your device’s power saver mode may disable the sensors required for Adventure Sync and may interfere with the functionality of this feature. Please disable your device’s power saving mode when using this feature.
  • Fitness data that is manually entered into Apple Health or Google Fit will not count towards your Adventure Sync progress.

Adventure Sync isn’t tracking any fitness progress

  • Make sure the device has the required sensors to track your distance and steps. Open the Google Fit or Apple Health App to ensure that your device is properly recording your fitness progress.
  • If you have an HTC One M8, your phone may be incompatible with Google Fit and you may be unable to use Adventure Sync.
  • Make sure that Pokémon GO is connected with Apple Health or Google Fit:
  • For Apple Health:
  • Open Apple Health
  • Tap on Sources
  • Under Apps, make sure that Pokémon GO is listed as a connected device
  • For Google Fit (may vary depending on device and OS):
  • Open your device’s Settings app
  • Tap on Google
  • Tap on Google Fit
  • Tap on Connected apps and devices and make sure Pokémon GO is listed as a connected device
