Pittsburgh Synagogue shooting: Where is Pittsburgh? What is police advice?

An active shooter is at large in Pittsburgh, according to recent police reports, where a Synagogue is under attack. 

Police are currently responding to the incident, which took place at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill.

At the time of the shooting it is believed there was a service taking place.

A police spokesperson has stated there are ‘multiple casualties’ in the shooting, and have advised people to stay indoors. 

The KDKA radio station based in the city have said the suspect has now surrendered and is being questioned by a SWAT team. 

 

Where is Pittsburgh? 

Pittsburgh is a city set in western Pennsylvania, a state in the northeastern end of the country bordering New York and Philadelphia. 

The city iteslf sits on the far western side of the state, nearby the state of Ohio. 

People situated in the city have been warned to remain indoors as there is still possible danger in the area. 

Donald Trump has already responded to the news via Twitter, stating: “Watching the events unfolding in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

“Law enforcement on the scene. People in Squirrel Hill area should remain sheltered. Looks like multiple fatalities. Beware of active shooter. God Bless All!”
