The Fortnite Server status will soon read down following Epic Games announcing their plans to take Fortnite offline today.
Fortnite will be down for an extended period so that the development team can perform scheduled maintenance.
This will end in a new Fortnite update needing to be downloaded on all platforms, including PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Mobile.
As confirmed by Epic Games earlier today, Fortnite downtime will begin at around 9am in the UK.
Players will start to see disruptions to their live games around 20 minutes before this, a time when Epic Games likes to start kicking players from live servers.

From what has been shared so far by Epic Games, today’s update will add a whole new event to Fortnite.
This is called Fortnitemares and will likely come with its own LTM and gear.
Map changes have been teased by Epic Games as well, including some buildings being destroyed around the Tomato Temple.
No reason has been given yet for this change, however, you can imagine fans will find out why as soon as they get back into the game.
Downtime could last several hours, with Fortnite update 6.20 quite a large one filled with new loot.
And when players do finally get access again, they will need to remember that a download will be waiting for them.
Away from the new Fortnitemares experience, Epic Games has also announced they want to test out a new glider deployment system.
This will allow players to use their gliders again if they are a certain distance off the ground.
It appears Epic Games are hoping to boost mobility in the Fortnite Battle Royale, although this change will only be temporary.
The development team are adding this change to the game for this week, and plan to remove by November.
Here’s more from Epic Games, who confirmed: “In the v6.20 update, we’ll be adding the glider re-deploy mechanic from Soaring 50’s into all game modes.
“You’ll be able to hop into a Solo, Duo or Squad match as per usual, but now you will be able to re-deploy your glider when you are at least three stories high.
“We’re testing how providing a singular mobility mechanic that all players can use will affect regular gameplay. We’re planning to run this for a week. Drop in, try it out, let us know what you think.”
Fans should also be aware that Epic Games are running the Fortnite Beta Tournaments this week, in all regions.
No disruption is expected from today update, although, new bugfixes and tweaks might be added to help improve matchmaking.
