Fortnitemares 2018: What is Fortnitemares? When does Fortnite event start?

Fortnitemares is Epic Games’ answer to a big Halloween event for Fortnite on all platforms.

Originally launched for Save the World mode, Fortnite Battle Royale players are also being promised a big event this year.

Official details remain vague, with Epic Games only sharing some hints and teases on their Twitter page.

The biggest news we have is that Fortnitemares 2018 is starting tomorrow, October 24.

“The crack of lightning Illuminates your wins, Arise, dark ones-The fight begins,” the latest message from Epic Games teases.

Other hints shared by Epic Games include “Tombstones quake, Keep your finger steady. The circle will close, Better be ready.”

Other images of zombified Fortnite characters and the Cube in chains have also appeared, providing a big hint at what might be coming next as part of the Fortnite event.

It remains speculation at this time, but it could be that Epic Games are going to launch a new LTM event for Halloween.

Much like High Stakes before it, Fortnitemares could include its own set of challenges to complete and cosmetics to buy.

There will probably be new items to use in the normal Battle Royale mode, with the Pumpkin Launcher possibly making a return.

When it comes to the LTM that could be in the works, a game in which players can come back as zombies having died in-game could make for something special to try.

Or perhaps a new weapon will be made available that players can use to eliminate players and recruit them for some kind of new horde mode.

Whatever is in the works, you can expect that Epic Games will announce everything tomorrow, October 24.

WHEN DOES FORTNITEMARES START?

Fortnitemares will start on Wednesday, October 24 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Mobile.

Epic Games haven’t announced a start time yet but it appears it will arrive with the game’s next update.

Update 6.20 has already been announced by Epic Games and will include some changes to the game.

“in the v6.20 update, we’ll be adding the glider re-deploy mechanic from Soaring 50’s into all game modes,” Epic Games confirms.

“You’ll be able to hop into a Solo, Duo or Squad match as per usual, but now you will be able to re-deploy your glider when you are at least three stories high.”

These new updates are usually released in the morning in the UK, possibly around 9am, BST.

Epic Games may change their usual schedule to make room for Fortnitemares, so it will be worth checking the Fortnite Twitter page tonight.

The good news is that Save the World will also be getting plenty of new content too.

New areas of the map will be available to explore, including haunted places, and there will also be new challenges to complete.

Over ten new quests will be released as part of the returning Fortnitemares event and will be available on all platforms.

The power rating on some of these missions goes as high as level 58 and will be released very soon.

The Top Tier quest is The Haunting Never Dies – You are now ready to take on the hauntings in Canny Valley. Take down the husks, Commander. Master your fears!

If teasers are now being released for Halloween, fans can expect some kind of announcement from Epic Games this week.
