FBI launch investigation after EXPLOSIVE DEVICE found near home of George Soros

The FBI commented on the device, saying: “There is no threat to public safety, and we have no further comment at this time.”

The device was found in the mailbox of the billionaire philanthropist’s home.

The device did not explode on its own.

The FBI said their bomb squad was at the scene and had successfully donated the device and were not proceeding to search the area.

Law enforcement officials responded to the device after Bedford police received a call about a suspicious package.

The police said: “An employee of the residence opened the package, revealing what appeared to be an explosive device.

“The employee placed the package in a wooded area and called the Bedford police.”

Mr Soros was not home at the time the call was made.

The Bedford police turned the case over to the FBI and Bureau of Alcohol Tabacco and Firearms (ATF).

Mr Soros was originally born in Hungary but made a fortune running a hedge fund after coming to the US.

He is a frequent donor and supporter of the Democratic Party, which has caused him to be vilified by some.

He has also become a target for anti-Semitic comments.

Actress Rosanne Barr called Mr Soros a “Nazi” during a Twitter rant earlier this year, for which she later apologised.

Republican Representative from Florida Matt Gaetz also accused the billionaire of funding the migrant caravan that is moving towards the US-Mexico border.

Mr Gaetz later changed his story, claiming he believed that cartel members were handing out money.

US President Donald Trump also claimed that Mr Soros had paid the people protesting Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination.
