Fortnite update 6.20 early patch notes: Fortnitemares, Beta Tournament, downtime, more

fans can expect a brand new Battle Royale content update later this week.

If previous Fortnite updates are anything to go by then the next patch should be available on the morning of October 23.

It’s unclear if it will be a numbered update (version 6.20) with downtime, or a minor content update (6.10).

Either way, the next Fortnite update is expected to usher in the upcoming Fortnitemares Halloween event.

The upcoming Fortnite event has been teased with brand new artwork on Twitter.

Judging by the imagery used in the tweets, the event will have something to do with Kevin the cube.

“Costumes and dancing,” reads an Epic Games tweet. “Partner up, be wise. They could be friendly, Or a ghoul in disguise. #Fortnitemares”

A second tweet features an image of the cube in chains, as well as a brand new poem.

“Tombstones quake,” the tweet reads. “Keep your finger steady. The circle will close, Better be ready.”

A third teaser has since been released, this time featuring a close up image of a revolver.

“Take the shot,” the tweet reads. “If you have enough to last. The wind calls out, Fill your chambers, fast.”

It’s possible the limited time event will feature a PVE element in which the undead invade the map.

In terms of a release date, fans should find out more during this week’s Battle Royale update.

In terms of patch notes, the Epic Games Trello board reveals some of the issues being investigated by the studio.

Epic Games is investigating an issue with crosshairs being blocked for certain outfits while aiming.

Elsewhere, Player models in Replays are sometimes getting stuck with Shadow Stone effects. There’s also a problem with music for certain emotes not playing.

The Battle Royale developer will also lay the foundations for the Beta Tournament, which runs from October 23 until October 25.

The Beta Tournament shifts the focus to duos, and will be followed by the weekly Friday tournament.
