Lakers FIGHT: LeBron James responds to Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul throwing punches

The Houston Rockets won 124-115 at the Staples Center last night, however, Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo’s fight stole the headlines.

The pair clashed late in the fourth quarter, with the point guards coming face to face.

Paul put his hand up to Rondo’s face, before the Lakers star threw punches at the Rockets man.

Brandon Ingram also threw a punch at Rondo during the altercation.

Rockets guard Paul told broadcasters the chaos started because Rondo spat in his face, however, the NBA are investigating the claim.

However, Rondo is furious with the allegation and strongly denies spitting at Paul.

And James was asked about the fight in his post-game interview, with the Lakers star revealing he’s ready to forget about it and move on.

He said: “Nah, I didn’t see anything.

“I didn’t say nothing to my team after the game.

“Coach said what he had to say and we’ll come in tomorrow and get better.

“You just try to calm things down, that’s all. [We’re here to] play basketball.

“We were right there, it was a one-point game and we had opportunities to win it.

“I’m not disappointed at all, nobody said it was going to be easy. Down the stretch we had some missed shots.”

Rondo and Paul will be investigated by the NBA in the coming hours.

And ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski says punishments could be handed out as soon as Sunday.

He said: “With the NBA’s Kiki VanDeWeghe on the scene at Staples, investigation into Rockets-Lakers fight is underway tonight and there is potential for suspensions as soon as Sunday, league source tells ESPN. Rockets play Clippers on a back-to-back.”

In a night that was supposed to be about James making his home debut, the Lakers superstar ended up with 24 points, five assists and five rebounds.

Rockets star James Harden produced a game-high 36 points, with Paul contributing 28 before his ejection.
