Google Chrome is widely-considered to be the most popular client in the world, beating the likes of Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox to the top spot.
Google recently announced a new version of Chrome, 70, had been released with roll-outs taking place “over the course of the next few weeks”.
The latest iteration of the software brings support for fingerprint readers on Android devices.
However the extent of such integration for scanners is currently unknown.
Google recently made a number of changes on its browser surrounding how users sign in and out of their accounts.
vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.
The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.
In version 69 of the application, when a user signed into any Google website they were automatically be logged into Chrome at the same time.
Fans of the browser were able to recognise when this action has taken place as their display picture would appear in the top right-hand side of the window.
Explaining the change, Google said: “We recently made a change to simplify the way Chrome handles sign-in.
“Now, when you sign into any Google website, you’re also signed into Chrome with the same account.
“You’ll see your Google Account picture right in the Chrome UI, so you can easily see your sign-in status.
“When you sign out, either directly from Chrome or from any Google website, you’re completely signed out of your Google Account.”
But now Google Chrome version 70 adds an option to disable this feature.
The American tech giant explained the move was made to give more control to users.
Google stated: “While we think sign-in consistency will help many of our users, we’re adding a control that allows users to turn off linking web-based sign-in with browser-based sign-in—that way users have more control over their experience.
“For users that disable this feature, signing into a Google website will not sign them into Chrome.”
