Lewis Hamilton reveals moment Mercedes garage left him BLOWN AWAY

Hamilton needs only to outscore Sebastian Vettel by eight points at the US Grand Prix this weekend in order to clinch the 2018 championship.

Of course, if he fails to do that in Austin then he still has three other races to claim the title.

It has been yet another impressive display from the Briton all-year round, but his form of late has arguably been the best of his career.

He heads into the United States Grand Prix having won six of the previous seven races.

A win in Austin would take his tally for the season to 10 Grand Prix victories and just one shy of his personal record of 11 that he achieved back in 2014.

The 33-year-old entered the sport as a bright, up and coming star in 2007 and has firmly established himself as one of the greats of the sport with still more room to add more accolades.

But despite his 11-year career to date, Hamilton admits seeing all the work from those behind the scenes in helping the team still amazes him to this day.

“For me, I love going back to the factory and seeing [it all],” Hamilton said in an interview with Nasdaq.

“I’m blown away every time I go back to the factory.

“I go there and see these guys working on something new and I’ll be like ‘what is that on the screen’.

“There will be one guy using quantum physics or the most ridiculous mathematics you’ve ever seen to create new programmes to understand strategy on the race and what may or may not happen.

“It’s a lot of prediction and on the driver side I need to grab all of this information and figure out what I can use to my benefit in terms of performing better on the track.”
