Mate 20 Pro release tomorrow – Rumours, specs and UK price as Huawei fans set for a treat

Huawei will reveal its new Mate 20 Pro tomorrow and it could be one to watch out for.

This new flagship looks set to include some big new features that could make it a contender for the best phone of the year.

Huawei’s big launch event is all set for tomorrow with the grand unveiling taking place at 2pm BST.

However, like almost every new smartphone there’s already been a swathe of leaks which paint a very good picture of what’s to come.

And perhaps the most exciting addition is the triple camera that looks certain to feature on the rear of the phone.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

Although not confirmed by Huawei, there have been numerous pictures leaked online which claim to show this unique trip of snappers.

And even Huawei’s invite hints at three cameras which are positioned in a square pattern on the back of the device.

This wouldn’t be the first time that Huawei has featured this impressive technology but the Mate 20 Pro could push the firm’s camera credentials to a new level.

Along with this updated rear snapper, we are also expecting to see more power coming to the Mate 20 Pro.

Huawei announced its new Kirin 980 chipset at the IFA technology show in August with this latest processor capable of boosting performance whilst using less power.

“Last year, we showed the world the potential of On-Device AI with the Kirin 970, and this year, we’ve designed an all-round powerhouse that not only features outstanding AI capabilities, but also brings cutting-edge raw performance to consumers,” said Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Richard Yu.

“Equipped with all-new CPU, GPU and Dual NPU, the Kirin 980 is the ultimate engine to power next-generation productivity and entertainment applications.”

The Kirin 980 is also the first SoC to embed Cortex-A76 based cores, which are 75 percent more powerful and 58 percent more efficient compared to their previous generation.

If Huawei follows the P20 Pro we could expect a giant battery that uses less power and that could mean some very impressive usage times.

There’s also some leaked news about the Mate 20’s battery technology that could have its rivals in a panic.

It’s thought the Mate 20 will not only feature wireless charging but include the ability to actually refill other wireless products as well.

A leak by WinFuture recently showed alleged press images of a Mate 20 Pro with some wireless headphones the publication insisted were called “Freebuds”.

The headphones were pictures in a mobile charging case that looked similar to that offered with Apple’s popular AirPods.

However, the leak suggested the case for the Freebuds could be placed on the rear of the Mate 20 Pro for charging.

Other expected features include a massive 6.9-inch edge-to-edge display, water-resistant design and a new way to unlock the phone.

One thing that the leaked pictures have shown is that there’s no rear-mounted security sensor so the Mate 20 Pro could come with facial recognition technology or a scanner which will be tucked inside the screen.

There’s currently no word on UK price with that news expected to be revealed tomorrow, however, this new phone is unlikely to be cheap.

With so much new technology tucked inside, the price for this device could exceed £850 with one rumour suggesting a cost close to €999.

We’ll find out full details in just a few hours and Express.co.uk will be at the London event and will bring all the news live as it happens.
