Man Utd news: Woodward sack meeting, Mourinho wants Ibrahimovic, Arsenal disagreement

Man Utd sack meeting

Manchester United chief Ed Woodward met with Jose Mourinho yesterday to determine the manager’s fate.

The Red Devils boss has come under-fire in recent months with results worsening, though the weekend’s stirring 3-2 win over Newcastle provided respite.

Woodward met Mourinho yesterday with the appointment of Zinedine Zidane a possible outcome.

But it remains unclear how the meeting went and, with Mourinho still in charge, it seems he has the backing of the Old Trafford hierarchy – for now.

Mourinho wants Ibrahimovic

Mourinho wants to bring Zlatan Ibrahimovic back to United this January, it has been claimed.

The 37-year-old left the club for LA Galaxy back in March, having fallen down the pecking order.

But ESPN claim Mourinho is giving thought to the possibility of a sensational Ibrahimovic return.

The player is seen as a way to bring harmony to a currently split dressing room.

And players would supposedly be keen on a transfer because they feel current talismans Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez lack leadership quality.

Arsenal disagreement

Arsene Wenger disagreed with Arsenal players over Alexis Sanchez’s move to United, reports say.

The Chile international jumped ship to Old Trafford back in January in a swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

And Bleacher Report claim Wenger was against the player moving to Mourinho’s side.

However, players were supposedly happy about it.

Why? Because Sanchez was seen as a disruptive influence over in north London.
