Jump-starting your car is really easy – Roadshow

Once you’ve made all your connections, start the operable vehicle’s engine and run it up to 1,500 rpm for about three minutes. After that, your once-dead battery should have enough charge to start the engine. Remove the jumper cables in the opposite way you attached them, drive your car for about half an hour to keep charging the battery and you’ll be good to go.
