Donald Trump left STUNNED by Kanye West as rapper delivers 10-minute rant in Oval Office

Kanye – who last month announced he had changed his stage name to ‘Ye’ – was visiting the White House to have lunch with the President and discuss issues he feels are most important to African Americans.

Wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat, the controversial rapper spoke uninterrupted for around 10 minutes as the US President listened.

His monologue was laden with praise for Mr Trump, who he described as a father figure on “his hero’s journey”.

Kanye also criticised Hillary Clinton’s 2016 election campaign.

Kanye said the red MAGA baseball cap “made me feel like Superman”, before telling Mr Trump: “You made a Superman cape for me. That’s my favourite superhero.”

The rapper has come under intense criticism from his fellow celebrities for wearing the cap and his support of the Trump administration.

He said: “They tried to scare me, my friends to not wear this hat, but this hat, it gives me power in a way.”

The rapper also ruled out a presidential bid “until 2024”, instead voicing his support for Mr Trump.

He went on to show Mr Trump a picture of a “hydrogen-powered airplane” saved on his mobile phone, insisting: “This is what our President should be flying in.”

“If he don’t look good, we don’t look good. This is our president.”

Mr Trump joked: “We could get rid of Air Force One.”

Following the lengthy monologue, the president said: “That was quite something.”

Kanye replied: “It was from the soul. I just channelled it.”

The rapper made the trip to the White House with NFL legend Jim Brown.

Following the Oval Office meeting, the pair were scheduled to speak with Mr Trump as well as his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner.

Criminal justice reform, manufacturing jobs and gang violence in Kanye’s hometown of Chicago were on the agenda for the private lunch.

The meeting comes just days after Taylor Swift, who Kanye has clashed with in the past, broke her long-held silence on politics and announced she would be voting for the Democrats in next month’s mid-term elections.

Kanye’s wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian West, sat down with the US President earlier this year to discuss criminal justice reform.

She secured a pardon for a great-grandmother who had been serving a life sentence for drugs offences.
