McGregor vs Khabib start time: When will the UFC 229 main event start? LATEST ESTIMATE

McGregor vs Khabib start time

UFC 229 is the latest fight night of the UFC with 10 fights taking place.

The action will take place in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas – the same venue where McGregor was defeated by Mayweather in a boxing contest last August.

Given the fight is in America, there is slight confusion over when the fight will take place – so let’s put that to rights.

To clear that up, the date of the fight in America will be October 6 – that’s Saturday.

But, in the UK and with an eight-hour time difference, McGregor will actually fight in the early hours of Sunday morning.

There are five fights on the main fight card. These will begin at around 3am UK time with the headline McGregor vs Nurmagomedov fight due at around 4am BST on Sunday.

However, if the fights before that go the distance, McGregor could be put back.

It may be easier to go to sleep and wake up, rather than stay up!

How long will UFC 229 fight last? When will it finish?

There are five fights on the main card, which is expected to begin at 3am UK time. As per the nature of the fight game, it is unpredictable how long each fight will last, but McGregor vs Khabib will likely begin between 4-5am BST.

The fights consists of five five-minute rounds, with one-minute breaks in between. So if the fight goes the distance, it will be around 30 minutes long.

If Khabib is to win, it’s expected he will do so through points, and therefore the fight will span the full amount of time. On the other hand, McGregor is more likely to win through knockout, which would mean an earlier finish.
