Pokemon Go Gen 4 release date news, Field Research update, new shiny reveal

Pokemon Go players may have just got another hint that something big is being planned for Halloween 2018.

That’s the news coming from data miners today, who believe they may have found a big tease in the latest APK build.

Niantic has managed to keep Trainers pretty busy in 2018, providing a new wave of features and events.

The new content has helped the game reach new levels of revenue, with analysts predicting that the game may have just broken the 1.8 billion barrier.

And it looks like the development team aren’t ready to finish the year quietly.

Many Trainers have backed Halloween to be the next major event in Pokemon Go, and new evidence has been found to back that up.

The game’s 0.119.5 APK build has a single line that suggests something big is being planned in the coming weeks.

A reference to a new event found in the code “.FALL_2018” has gotten a lot of fans excited about what is coming next.

Niantic rarely ever references an event in the game’s code itself, so it could be something huge being planned for October.

There are hopes that Niantic may be ready to release the game’s next big feature, PvP battles.

Halloween has been used in the past to release exciting new content, which also points to a new wave of Gen 4 Pokemon being launched too.

This is how Gen 3 Pokemon were introduced last year, with a lot of dark and ghost-types being launched during Halloween.

The likes of Sableye, Banette, and a few other Ghost-type Pokémon originally discovered in the Hoenn region were the first to make their debut in-game.

This was followed by the rest of the Pokemon first seen in the Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire video games being gradually added in December.

This all remains speculation for the time being, with only hints pointing to Niantic working on a Pokemon Gen 4 release at this time.

There’s also the fact that Mewtwo Raids will end on October 23, around the same time a new event could be launched in-game.

Trainers can currently take on the powerful psychic type in normal raids, having been replaced in the EX Raids by Deoxys.

In other Pokemon Go related news, Trainers can now catch Shiny Krabbys in the wild, having been told an update with them included was coming.

“This October, completing certain water-themed Field Research tasks will reward Trainers with the opportunity to encounter the River Crab Pokemon, Krabby! Some lucky Trainers might even encounter a Shiny Krabby.”

These are just the latest shiny Pokemon to be added to the game and will be followed by Beldum later this month, as part of the Community Day celebrations.

In other news this week, it has also been confirmed what the new Field Research tasks are for October.

Trainers now have another chance at catching the Aurora Pokémon, Suicune, as part of the new Field Research.

If you want to capture Suicune, just complete one research task a day to unlock a new stamp.

Once you’ve got seven stamps, you’ll be rewarded with an encounter with Suicune.
