Cyberpunk 2077 release date update, good news for PS4 and Xbox One fans

Cyberpunk 2077 release date may be sooner than fans think, if a recent update is anything to go by.

Cyberpunk 2077 is easily one of the most anticipated games on the horizon with a show stopping trailer being one of the big highlights at E3 2018.

Developers CD Projekt Red previously said Cyberpunk 2077 is right now playable from start to finish, but there’s still work to be done on it.

And while a release date has not been confirmed fans may have got the best indication yet that Cyberpunk 2077 is coming soon.

It has now been confirmed that Warner Bros Interactive has secured a deal to publish Cyberpunk 2077 in North America.

And, as discussed in a post by GameRant, this could indicate Cyberpunk 2077 will have a release date in 2019.

Looking at the timing of past announcements, Warner Bros was confirmed as the North America publisher for The Witcher 3 in July 2013.

This was a year and a few months before the original Q3 2014 release date for The Witcher 3. It ended up later getting delayed till the following year.

While the Warner Bros publishing deal for The Witcher 2 was announced six months before its launch.

So, judging by the timings of past announcements, today’s news could signal a 2019 release date for Cyberpunk 2077.

In other news, rumours of a possible 2019 release date for Cyberpunk 2077 were given further weight this week.

As Express.co.uk previously reported, new Cyberpunk 2077 release date rumours emerged after a tweet from Turkish publisher Bilkom.

They were in charge of distributing The Witcher 3 in the region, and a now-deleted tweet may have revealed the Cyberpunk 2077 release date.

Screengrabs show a message that seems to indicate that the Cyberpunk 2077 release date may have been set for 2019.

No further information is available to suggest when next year it could hit shelves but it makes sense it would probably be closer to the end of the year.

This could of course just be a mix-up on the part of the distributor and may mean little when it comes to the official release date.

But it would certainly prove popular with fans to know that Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to PS4 and Xbox One, rather than next-gen as some feared.
