Nest has been cutting the cost of heating bills for the past eight years.
Their intelligent thermostats feature the ability to learn your daily routines and are internet connected – allowing them to be controlled remotely via a smartphone.
Nest is keen to champion how much its technology can help customers with them boasting 25 billion kWh of energy has been saved since their first product was introduced.
However, one of the biggest issues for the Nest system is its relatively high costs and the fact that it needs to be fitted by a professional.
Nest is clearly aware that this is limiting its appeal and so they are now launching a new device called the Thermostat E.

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.
The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.
This new heating gadget not only costs £20 less than the standard Nest but can also be DIY fitted to almost any home – saving another £60.
Nest says that the brand new Heat Link E replaces your current thermostat and uses your existing thermostat wires.
This Heat Link unit then connects wirelessly with the Nest Thermostat E which can be plugged in anywhere in the home.
Once installed there’s plenty of benefits including the ability to automatically turn off the heating after it detects that nobody is home.
There’s also a feature called True Radiant which turns the heat on early to reach the scheduled temperature, then turns it off early so your home won’t heat over the temperature you want.
To make things easy for new customers, Nest has looked at average energy usage to create a pre-set schedule on the new device – this means savings can be made right out of the box.
Like all Nest devices, the new Thermostat E can also be controlled remotely on your smartphone so you can always make sure the heating is exactly how you want it.
And you’ll also get a Home Report each month which shows you how much heating you use every day.
Speaking about the new device, Lionel Guicherd-Callin, Global Head of Energy Product and Services, said: “In 2011, we reinvented the thermostat category to make it easy for people to save energy.
“Fast forward seven years: Nest owners have globally saved more than 25 billion kWh — that’s the equivalent of more than £1.2 (€1.3) billion in energy saved — and now we are bringing beautiful design and proven energy saving capabilities into even more homes.
“To do that, we needed to simplify. The more subtle look and feel of the Nest Thermostat E will seamlessly blend into any environment.
“And it uses existing European thermostat wires so it’s a simple installation. It’s everything our customers have come to know and love from Nest thermostats with a renewed focus on user simplicity and control.”
