Chelsea team news: Maurizio Sarri reveals how many changes planned for Europa League clash

Chelsea go into the Stamford Bridge showdown with the Hungarian minnows off the back of a testing double-header against Liverpool.

And as he did in the first meeting with the Reds, a Carabao Cup third round tie, Sarri is set to utilise the depth of his squad.

The likes of Andreas Christensen, Cesc Fabregas and Alvaro Morata will all be hoping to get a run out against Vidi.

And Sarri says there will be plenty of alterations to his Chelsea team as he looks to balance the demands of domestic and European football.

“I have to speak to Pedro,” Sarri said, when asked for any team news. “He is doing better, like Loftus [Ruben Loftus-Cheek].

“Every player is at a level, but I have to change maybe five, six, seven players.

“I don’t know, I want to see the training tomorrow morning and this afternoon.”

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has made just two substitute appearances for Chelsea so far this season.

And Sarri says the England international could slot into his team as they welcome Vidi to town.

“He was unlucky in the last three weeks with the national team,” Sarri added.

“He had a problem in the last 5 or 6 days he has been better. He is able to play tomorrow.”

Asked if there is pressure on Loftus-Cheek, Sarri added: “The pressure is normal for the player of a high level.

“So he has to get used to the pressure. It is normal of a player with high level to have pressure.”

Sarri has faced calls to book the trend his predecessors set by putting his faith in Chelsea’s academy graduates.

But he refused to commit to playing Callum Hudson-Odoi, when asked about choosing the winger or in-form star man Eden Hazard against Vidi.

“I don’t know,” Sarri said. “For sure not both, Hazard or Odoi.

“I don’t know at the moment. I said a couple of weeks ago the period from the first international break to second is my pre-season.

“I want to see every player. Tomorrow it might be time to see Loftus, I think. I don’t know about Odoi.”

Chelsea are among the favourites to reclaim the Europa League trophy they secured in 2013.

However, Sarri says the uncertainty that the tournament’s format provides means it is hard to make a prediction as to who will win it.

“I don’t know,” Sarri admitted, when asked if Chelsea are the favourites to win the Europa League.

“Europa League is a very unusual competition, because we don’t know the names in the second round.

“Eight teams come in from the Champions League, but we want to arrive at the end of the competition.”

Chelsea are currently top of Europa League Group L following their matchday one win over PAOK Salonika.
