Anthony Joshua told coach cannot stop Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder exposing his weakness

Joshua defended his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight belts against Alexander Povetkin last month but now there is hope he will fight the winner of Fury vs Wilder.

The Gypsy King is due to take on the Bronze Bomber on December 1 in Los Angeles for the WBC title.

However, if the winner of that duel does get a chance to unify the heavyweight division against Joshua then Warren is confident they will strip the Watford-born fighter of all his belts.

And that is because his trainer, Rob McCracken, does not work on the defence enough, suggests Warren.

“If that had been Wilder catching him on the chin, or even Tyson catching him on the chin, do you think they’d have let him off the hook? The answer to that is no,” he told Boxing News.

“He’s got a big punch. He was behind in that [Povetkin] fight in my opinion, I still like him as a fighter.

“But I don’t look at what fighters are good at doing, I look at what are doing badly or what their flaws are.

“And his flaw is you can catch him with a right hand. He’s not hard to hit.

“I know a lot of people have a lot of respect for Rob McCracken. I don’t think he’s with a trainer who’s great at teaching boxers defence.

“Carl Froch didn’t have a great defence. Look at his nose. He didn’t have a great defence. He had a great chin.

“Anthony Joshua’s been clipped in every fight he’s ever had.”

Joshua has booked Wembley Stadium for his next fight on April 13 but it is yet to be decided who his opponent will be.

Boxing fans are hoping to see the Brit step into the ring with Wilder, but it is more likely be a rematch against Dillian Whyte.

Another contender to fight Joshua is Jarrell Miller, but former world title challenger Dmitry Salita thinks that could be too dangerous an opponent.

“I was at the [Joshua vs Alexander Povetkin] fight but, I’ve got to tell you, that I just don’t see Joshua beating Jarrell,” Salita told Sky Sports.

“Joshua is a great ambassador for the sport but I don’t see him beating Jarrell. Jarrell is a big man physically but what makes him unique is that he has the flexibility and athleticism of a little guy.

“He has the fluidity and speed of a small heavyweight but he is very big. He has tremendous skills and a high punch output.”
