Jose Mourinho: Man Utd board will make sack decision in ‘two or three games’ – Parlour

That is the view of Arsenal legend Ray Parlour.

Mourinho’s future at Old Trafford is in doubt after a difficult start the season.

Manchester United has lost three Premier League games and crashed out of the Carabao Cup to Derby last week.

Mourinho has a history of underwhelming third seasons and there are fears United’s campaign could implode.

Parlour believes the negative atmosphere at United is frustrating fans and questioned the fitness of the players.

And he feels Mourinho could have around three games before the United hierarchy makes a decision.

“It’s so negative at Manchester United, I’m sure the fans are sick of it at the moment,” Parlour told talkSPORT.

“It was probably one of the poorest performances I’ve seen against West Ham.

“I don’t think the players looked fit enough, I just felt they were a yard short everywhere. West Ham wanted to win every second ball more than the United players, so that’s quite a worrying situation.

“Obviously you’ve got the Pogba scenario at the moment and you’ve got Sanchez, who has been nowhere near the player he was at Arsenal.

“Can Jose turn it around? It’s going to be difficult.

“Once you lose that dressing room, you’re in trouble – especially big, influential players in that dressing room.

“We’ve seen it so many times when the players lose respect for the manager and suddenly their performances go downhill.

“So in the next two or three games the board will be looking to see what their reaction will be.”

United resume Champions League action this evening against Valencia and Parlour believes the players need to restore some pride.

He added: “This Champions League game tonight is absolutely vital to them. They had a really good result in the first game [against Young Boys in Switzerland], Pogba scored a great goal and played really well, so he [Mourinho] needs that same reaction tonight.

“The big players have got to turn up, they have to enjoy wearing the Man United shirt, be proud of wearing the Man United shirt and give everything for the cause.”
