Jose Mourinho: How long did Man Utd boss last at Real Madrid, Chelsea, Inter and Porto?

United boss Mourinho is under increasing pressure in the Old Trafford hotseat after a string of poor results.

A draw at home to Wolves was followed up with a Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Derby, a 3-1 humbling at West Ham and a Champions League home draw with Valencia.

United currently sit 10th in the Premier League – nine points off leaders Manchester City and Liverpool.

BBC 5Live Sport pundit Chris Sutton says the time is right for Mourinho to move on and even suggests the Manchester United boss wants to be sacked by the club.

“Why is he carrying it on today after a dreadful weekend, you know, the club in turmoil and then to come out today and guess what? More uncertainty,” Sutton said.

“[He’s] adding fuel to the fire and everybody’s readying into it.

“It’s time for Mourinho to go and when I said does he want the sack I suspect that he does in many respects.

“He’s an intelligent guy, why would he want to keep carrying it on and and on by coming out and being provactive which is what it is.”

How long was Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, Chelsea, Inter and Porto?

Mourinho made a name for himself at Porto, winning the Portuguese top flight and Champions League over two seasons.

He spent a total of two years, five months and eight days (890 days) at the club before being offered the Chelsea job by Roman Abramovich.

Following his arrival at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho set English football alight winning two Premier League titles and the FA Cup before leaving after a reported row with Abramovich over the direction of the club.

That spell lasted three years, two months and 20 days (117 days) but he would return to Stamford Bridge again at a later date.

Next up for the manager was Inter Milan where he was stationed for one year, 11 months and 29 days between 2008 and 2010.

He won the Serie A in both seasons but his highlight was another Champions League crown.

Real Madrid came calling and agreed a large compensation package with Inter to release Mourinho from his contract.

The Portuguese coach was in charge at the Bernabeu for three years, one month and one day (1127 days), winning La Liga and the Copa del Rey but failed to pick up another European trophy.

He left the Spanish side by “mutual consent” in 2013 and returned to Chelsea of his second stint at the helm.

However, Mourinho would only last two years, five months, and 17 days (900 days) this time around but still managed to win another Premier League title.

Mourinho joined United in the summer of 2016 and earlier this year signed a contract extension until 2020, with the option of a further year.

Will Jose Mourinho be sacked by Manchester United?

The odds suggest that the Portuguese coach is on his way out.

He is currently the favourite to lose his job first in the Premier League at 8/11 with Betfair.

Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is at the same odds to be the next man in charge at Old Trafford.

Antonio Conte is next in line at 10/1 with Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino priced at 14/1.
