Conor McGregor makes prediction ahead of Khabib Nurmagomedov bout at UFC 229

McGregor will return to the Octagon on Saturday night, almost two years since his last UFC fight.

Since then, the Notorious has faced Floyd Mayweather in a boxing ring and been stripped of his UFC Lightweight Championship title.

He gets the chance to win that back against the unbeaten Nurmagomedov with the two doing battle at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

It comes after Conor McGregor stormed a media day for UFC 223, attacking a bus that the Russian was on.

And McGregor admits there is a personal aspect to the bout as he predicted how the fight will pan out.

“I think I’m going to turn him into a bobblehead if I’m honest,” McGregor told TheMacLife.

“It’s personal but it’s the same, it’s always a little personal.

“In there it’s a blank face and a new body.

“I see him turning into a bobblehead when I hit him. I feel his brain is going to rattle when he takes a clatter off me.

“That’s what I’m keeping in my head, but I’m a veteran now.

“I will be prepared for five rounds, I’ll be prepared for any scenario. I’m well trained, I’ve put in the work and we are confident going in, no matter where it goes.”

McGregor’s future after the Nurmagomedov fight is unclear, even to his striking coach Owen Roddy.

“It’s kind of always been a wait and see basis,” Roddy recently said.

“I’ve said after every single fight, ‘What do you think is next? And you don’t know.

“It just depends on what comes up and what Conor fancies. I don’t know, but I always say, ‘Every fight is bigger than the last.’

“And without a doubt, after this one, the next challenge will be bigger than the Khabib challenge. So, I’m excited.

“I’m just like a fan when it comes to that. I’m sitting at home saying, ‘What’s going to happen next?’ And then when you hear it, it’s like, ‘Right, let’s go. Let’s get on this again.’ We’ll see.”
