Fortnite Floating Island UPDATE: Epic unveils NEW map changes for Season 6

developer Epic Games has posted a huge floating island teaser on Twitter.

It was previously speculated that the floating island containing the cube would move away from Loot Lake and appear in other parts of the map.

The original report surfaced after Fortnite Intel discovered game files labelled “cube growth”.

Other players claimed to see the floating island near Salty Springs during Playground sessions.

After days of speculation, Epic Games has seemingly confirmed plans to take the floating island on tour.

The tweet (below) asks if players are prepared for the darkness to rise. It’s accompanied by an image showing the floating island in a brand new location on the map.

Fortnite: Battle Royale Leaks would follow this up with a tweet showing the floating island near Retail Row.

With Epic tweeting a new teaser, expect the map to receive an update very soon.

This week’s Season 6 update added a host of new gameplay features, map locations and more.

Pets are one of the biggest new additions, as Epic Games adds new companions for players.

There are also multiple new map locations, including the aforementioned Floating Island, a number of Corrupted Areas, Corn Fields and a Haunted Castle.

Another useful feature is the ability to customise your controller bindings on consoles. Epic Games has also made changes to the way the storm circles work in Fortnite Battle Royale.

There was even a follow-up update, after fans complained about odd animations appearing in the game.
