There was plenty of intrigue brewing for the 70th Emmy Awards, which took place in Los Angeles on Monday night. How many of Game of Thrones‘ 22 nominations did the HBO show take home?
While HBO usually leads the Emmy nominations, this year it was Netflix on top, with 112 nominations in total, and the streaming property closed out the night with seven wins during the Primetime Emmys. Check out the complete list of Emmy winners for more info on who left happy.
This year’s Creative Arts Emmys had already taken place, honoring actors, cinematographers, musicians and other technical specialists who elevated television programming to a fine art. Winners included Game of Thrones (with seven wins), Gianni Versace (four wins), The Crown, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Atlanta and The Handmaid’s Tale.
