Chelsea news: N’Golo Kante will ‘think about’ joining Liverpool – claim

That is according to a Reds fan, who ended up hosting the World Cup winner at his house after a bizarre turn of events.

The Chelsea midfielder missed his scheduled train to Paris on Saturday night after playing in the 4-1 demolition of Cardiff.

After searching on his phone for the nearest mosque to London St Pancras, he ended up meeting up with a group of football fans and going back to their house.

The 27-year-old spent the evening playing FIFA, eating chicken curry and watching his heroics on Match Of The Day.

One of the fans, who wished to stay anonymous, spoke to the Daily Star about the loveable midfielder, who famously still drives a Mini Cooper despite his vast wealth.

“We met him in the mosque at 9pm, he was so humble so we asked if he wanted to have dinner,” the fan explained.

“He came round at about 10 and stayed until the end of Match of the Day.

“We spent the whole time talking about football and he admitted Messi is on another level to anyone else.

“Eventually, he gave up on going to France and just got a cab back home.”

Another fan posted on Twitter about the incident, claiming he had discussed the potential move with him.

“World Cup winner, former Premier League player of the year, two-time Premiership winner casually joined us to watch MOTD after visiting a local mosque. True definition of being humble. What a man,” he wrote.

“Not to mention he ate curry loooool. Asked him to join Liverpool and he said he will think about it.”

Liverpool would not be alone if they did decide to make a move for the midfielder.

Paris Saint-Germain made a move for Kante in the summer after the World Cup, though the Frenchman admitted he had no plans to leave.

He explained: “There was some interest from elsewhere, but things were clear after speaking with Chelsea.

“There was some contact with PSG, yes.

“However, after a discussion with the club, I realised that the main thing for me was to feel good where I was then and am now.”
