Following the first semi-final between Rafael Nadal and Juan Martin Del Potro, Djokovic and Nishikori will go head to head for the fourth time this season.
Djokovic holds a dominant 14-2 head-to-head record over Kei Nishikori.
Nishikori is appearing in his third Grand Slam semi-final of his career, all of which have come in New York.
And Djokovic says Nishikori will be a tough test.
