James Bond: Daniel Craig’s 007 revealed as biggest BOOZER of all in new stats

When Craig debuted in 2006’s Casino Royale out went the gadgets but clearly up went the alcohol intake.

The incumbent star’s James Bond has been discovered to be the biggest boozer over that of Sir Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Sir Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan.

Betway have created an interactive guide called Bond by Numbers and it turns out 007’s iconic drink of choice is surprisingly champagne, not his trademark vodka martini.

Across all 24 official films he’s seen sipping the sparkling wine 21 times, while his total alcohol intake is 302 units.

And a whopping 85 of those units are Craig’s 007 in his four films.

Casino Royale was the booziest of his films with 26 units consumed, while the overall average was 21.25 per movie.

According to the guide: “On average, Bond sips a drink every 10 minutes and 53 seconds.

“He traded his favourite Vodka Martini for bottles of Heineken throughout Skyfall as part of a product-placement sponsorship deal, but was back on his signature drink before the end of the film.”

Meanwhile Bond only says his famous catchphrase “shaken, not stirred” 12 times throughout the franchise.

Surprisingly Craig only says it once, in Spectre at the Hoffler Klinik where he discovers, to his dismay, that the bar doesn’t service alcohol.

Bond by Numbers also compares categories like bad guys killed, romantic liaisons and box office takings.

Last year a YouGov poll discovered the UK’s favourite 007 actor.

It turns out that Connery, the original Bond, is still the nation’s favourite with 27% of the vote.

He was followed by Craig in second, Moore third, Brosnan fourth and Dalton in fifth place.

Meanwhile poor old Lazenby, who starred in just one Bond movie, received no votes at all.

Nevertheless while Connery was voted the favourite, the answer with the highest percentage was “Not applicable, I do not have a favourite James Bond actor”, with 28% of the vote. Also 5% said they just didn’t know.
