The suspect had reportedly taken a gun out and fired it three times in the air.
According to reports, the police responded to the call shortly before 7pm local time on Sunday night.
Officers attempted to subdue the suspect using a taser, but when the device failed to stop him, police opened fire.

Simon Bray, analyst from betting website TVG, told Bloodhorse: “I heard six shots to the right of us, outside the gates.
“I jumped over the gate immediately, there were people running everywhere.
“And I got stuck in a stall with a kid who lost his parents.
“It was some scary stuff.”
The Del Mar Racetrack wrote in a tweet the situation is now under control, and that the scheduled concert by rapper Ice Cube would still go ahead.
The shooting occurred shortly before Ice Cube was set to go on stage.
