PUBG Mobile update: Fans wait on 8.0 Sanhok, Tencent reveal PAX plans

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has grown in stature since its original launch back in March 2018.

Having reached over 100 million downloads, players are now looking to the future and wondering how long it will take PUBG Mobile to catch up with the PC original.

That step might not be too far away, with update 8.0 promising to include Sanhok, the latest map to be launched.

No timeline has been provided on when Tencent will roll out the next major patch, although it probably won’t be for a few months.

Season 3 of PUBG MOBILE officially kicked off very recently, bringing with it a fresh new Royale Pass for players to earn in-game costumes and weapon skins.

In addition to the new Royale Pass, Version 0.7.5 merges the ranking systems for First Person Perspective (FPP) and Third Person Perspective (TPP), so players can level-up simultaneously.

This was a big step forward and is just another way in which PUBG Mobile is building its own look and feel.

While may have to wait to find out more about the next PUBG Mobile update, we do know about Tencent’s plans for PAX West.

The gaming expo kicks off very soon and PUBG Mobile will be attending from August 31st to September 3rd.

It has been confirmed that Deadmau5 will be joining popular content creators Muselk, StoneMountain64 and Chad as they attempt “the big drop” and skydive into the Seattle-metro area from an aeroplane.

In addition to the skydiving demonstration, PAX West 2018 attendees can visit PUBG MOBILE on the 3rd floor to participate in a themed photobooth equipped with props inspired by the game as well as experience PUBG MOBILE firsthand at multiple gameplay stations.

It follows news that PS4 fans could be getting another Battle Royale game soon with hopes raised that PUBG may be coming to the Sony console.

So far the hit online shooter has only been available on PCs, mobile devices and the Xbox One.

The Xbox One has had PUBG as a console exclusive since last December and there’s been no official sign of that changing anytime soon.

On September 4, PUBG 1.0 will be launched which brings with it the smaller Sanhok map to the Xbox One.

New weapons, the War Mode deathmatch, as well as in-game microtransactions and the Event Pass, will also be added.

The news was revealed in a Microsoft announcement trailer shown during the Xbox Gamescom 2018 event.

However, one moment during that trailer has given fans hope that a PUBG PS4 release is coming.

The trailer gave a behind the scenes look of how Bluehole have been working towards a full PUBG product release on the Xbox One.

But eagle-eyed viewers noticed that at one point in the trailer a PS4 Pro can be seen sitting on one Bluehole employee’s desk, Push Square reported.

This doesn’t necessarily mean the PS4 Pro was being used for work purposes – it could just be a worker’s out-of-hours entertainment system.
