
The US National Weather Service (NWS) said a “trailing band of deep tropical moisture” would keep conditions wet in the wake of the storm.
Lane caused major damage across the islands and caused dozens of people to be rescued on Sunday.
Evacuations took place across Big Island in Hilo and Keaau, as landslides and flash floods closed roads.

This meant that Lane’s downpours soaked the state with more rain than any storm in the past 68 years, according to preliminary figures.
What is the forecast this week for Hawaii?
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOOA) seven-day forecast for Hawaii forecasts showers likely every day, with the chance of precipitation at 60 percent.
In a statement the meteorological organisation said: “Lingering deep tropical moisture associated with Lane will keep island weather cloudy and wet today.
“Drier, more typical trade wind weather is expected to spread from east across the state tonight into Wednesday, prevailing through Friday.
“A more showery trade wind weather may return to the state over the later part of the weekend.”
NOAA says that today “new precipitation amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.”
There is also heavy rain forecast for tonight, with a northeasterly wind of around 18mph and high gusts of 25mph.
Wednesday will be partly sunny, however, the chance of precipitation remains at 60 percent.
For the rest of the week through to Monday, September 3, showers remain likely, with easterly winds.
