Tej Lalvani net worth: Dragon’s Den star worth THIS much compared to fellow Dragons

Tej Lalvani, 44, is one of the most successful business men in Britain, being CEO of the UK’s largest vitamin company, Vitabiotics.

While he has had a successful business career, he is perhaps best known for his appearance on BBC One’s Dragon’s Den.

On the panel since 2017, Tej has invested in many companies, growing his net worth and expanding his business empire.

But compare to his colleagues such as Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden, how much is he actually worth?

Tej Lalvani is the son of Vitabiotics founder Kartar Lalvani, who founded the business in 1971.

Following university, Tej joined the family business, starting his career as a forklift driver before working his way up to become chief operating officer in 2008.

Just seven years later Tej had become CEO, gaining himself the nickname the “Prince of Vitamins”.

Vitabiotics sells well-known brands such as Wellman, Perfectil and Pregnacare in over 100 countries all around the world, doing great things for Tel’s bank balance.

In 2017 the businessman joined the cast of the hit BBC show, Dragon’s Den, sitting on the panel with some of the richest people in the UK.

But Tej deserved his place on the panel, now reported to be worth a staggering £275 million, with Vitabiotics turning over around £300,000 million per annum.

His place on the panel was secured down to achievements like being named 2012’s Young Entrepreneur at the Asian Business Awards as well as Young Entrepreneur of the Year by TiE in 2013.

In October 2017, he ranked at number 48 on the GG2 Power List of the most influential Asian people in Britain.

Since joining the cast of Dragon’s Den in 2017, Tej has invested in many start up companies, no doubt gaining him dividends and increasing his potential earnings.

On top of his control of Vitabiotics, Tej also owns a property investment business with his wife, Tara Ruby.

The 44-year-old lives in London’s Marylebone with Tara, with the couple reported to own an impressive property portfolio together.

Aside from his business interests, the Prince of Vitamins composes music and plays the drums, keyboard and guitar.

Tej’s fortune is no doubt impressive, but not as impressive as his Dragon’s Den co-star, Peter Jones’.

The 52-year-old, who has been on the show since its conception in 2005, is reported to be worth a whopping £500 million, due to his large presence in the tech industry.

His fortune has been accumulated through many business ventures, including founding Wines4Business.com, an online retailer, and Celsius, a specialist recruitment business.

Another Dragon on the panel is Deborah Meaden, who is also worth a few bob, but a surprisingly smaller amount that Tej and Peter.
